About the RoleAs a Senior Data Scientist at Chime, you'll tackle
the challenge of creating advanced credit and lending models that
not only shine a light on our members' financial wellbeing but also
expand their credit possibilities in a fair and inclusive way.

that your innovations operate within the right regulatory and

manage their finances.The base salary offered for this role and
level of experience will begin at $176,490 and up to $245,100.
Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive
equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be
higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and
experience.In this role, you can expect to
- Develop and deploy AI/ML models for credit underwriting, risk
assessment, and liquidity prediction, ensuring fair and compliant
lending practices.
- Leverage AI/ML for Credit Insights and advanced modeling
approaches to enhance creditworthiness assessments and predict
default risk.
- Work closely with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to align
models with regulatory frameworks, fair lending practices and model
governance.
- Optimize Real-Time Credit Decisioning and Improve the speed and
accuracy of credit decisions by leveraging scalable AI/ML
infrastructure.
- Drive Strategic AI/ML Initiatives through collaboration with
Product and Engineering to shape the credit product roadmap and
define data-driven risk strategies.
- Play a key role in shaping the credit team's strategic
direction and ensuring alignment with Chime's broader business
goals.
- Champion a data-driven approach to decision-making across the
organization.
- Directly contribute to Chime's success by delivering AI/ML
solutions that improve both customer satisfaction and business
outcomes.To thrive in this role, you have
- Strong proficiency in AI/ML techniques including
classification, clustering, optimization, deep learning, and
generative AI.
- Expertise or exposure to risk assessment, underwriting models,
and regulatory requirements related to credit (e.g., model
governance, explainability, and fairness).
- Experience working with large-scale transactional, financial,
and behavioral data to develop predictive models for credit &
liquidity risk.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, SageMaker, Kafka, Airflow, Redis,
Snowflake, and Spark, with a strong MLOps mindset.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed computing
frameworks to build, train, and deploy scalable ML solutions.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product,
engineering, compliance, and risk teams to align AI/ML solutions
with business and regulatory needs.
- M.S. or Ph.D. in AI/ML, Computer Science, Statistics, or a
related STEM field.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with
experience working with stakeholders across product, design,
engineering, and marketing.What we offer
