The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, manufacturing, procuring and assembling systems to enable the core R&D roadmap, including work on diagnostics, vacuum systems and plasma sources.Your first year at Marathon Fusion you'll:

• Integrate sensors, power systems, pneumatics, and mechanical subsystems into our metal foil pump test bed
• Perform mechanical/electrical design in CAD
• Uphold standards and requirements for ultra-high vacuum environments
• Procure equipment to meet testing requirements, material standards, and project timelines
• Discover, building relationships with, and vetting quality of vendors/supplier partners
• Participate in experimental design planning and reviewsThe ideal candidate will meet most of these requirements:
  • A degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency at engineering analysis
  • Experience with both in-house prototyping and outsourcing manufacturing
