services are developed and delivered in accordance with the
hospital and health system strategic plan and objectives. In
addition, this leadership role is responsible for establishing and
maintaining strong working relationships with the medical staff,
ancillary departments, and community agencies.This position also
helps develop and deliver education and training for social work
staff, social work interns, and hospital staff to ensure staff
development.Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance
with the Service Standards of Stanford Children's Health and its
regulatory bodies.Monitors and meets budget and operational
targets.Advocates for appropriate space and other fundamental
resources needed to perform high-level social work
functions.Deploys social work personnel to assure appropriate and
adequate psycho-social services for patients and families.Assists
in identifying social work program priorities by evaluating the
needs of target populations and assessing the availability of
human, fiscal and equipment resources in order to implement policy
and programs effectively.Assists in identifying, administering and
coordinating policies and procedures for the Social Work
Department.Helps maintain appropriate quality assurance mechanisms
and internal controls.Assists in hiring qualified staff and
maintains appropriate staffing ratios consistent with the needs of
the organization and within budgetary parameters.Ensures that
orientation, staff training and development programs are in place
and provided to all staff.Responsible for the evaluation of staff
performance.Interviews, assists in selection, provides orientation
and training for social work staff.Provides leadership and guidance
to the overall provision of social work services to patients and
families to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.Responsible
for the implementation and review of social work policies and
procedures, standards and programs that support the clinical
practice of social work.Adheres to the NASW Code of Ethics, and
Joint Commission requirements.Acts as an educational resource and
provides consultation to staff, patients and their
families.Participates and/or takes leadership in department and
hospital-wide committees and task forces.Assists with departmental
goal setting and implementation.Minimum QualificationsAny
combination of education and experience that would likely provide
the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession
of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.Education:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or
university.Experience: Broad and extensive and progressively
responsible directly related work experience in clinical,
administrative and managerial positions.License/Certification:
(LCSW) Lic Clinical Social Worker.Knowledge, Skills, &
AbilitiesThese are the observable and measurable attributes and
skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of
the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying
experience, education, or licensure/certification.Ability to set
short and long-term objectives, focus and prioritize resources, and
evaluate outcomes.Ability to demonstrate strong advocacy skills for
patients and families.Ability to represent the needs of the Social
Work Department to all levels of management and to help provide the
social work department with the necessary tools to provide the
highest level of services to patients and families.Ability to apply
theories, principles and practices of clinical social work in a
hospital or medical center setting.Ability to establish strategic
direction and business plans for social work services.Ability to
effectively supervise, mentor and train social workers who are at a
variety of experience levels and to evaluate work results.Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and
team building skills.Demonstrated mastery of social work theories,
principles and techniques and how to apply them.Demonstrates a
strong ethical presence.Knowledge of computer systems and software
used in functional area.Ability to develop and implement
comprehensive and well-integrated social work program in accordance
with the requirements of external regulatory and accrediting
bodies, as well as laws and regulations, applicable to the
operation of hospital social services programs in the state of

RangeCompensation is based on the level and requirements of the
role.Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your
education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities,
as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment
with market data.Typically, new team members join at the minimum to
mid salary range.Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $125,507.20
