2026POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Division of Hematology/Oncology in the
Department of Medicine at the University of California San
Francisco is seeking additional faculty for its growing and dynamic
section of non-malignant (classical) hematology. We are recruiting
new faculty members whose clinical, teaching, and
clinical/translational research activities focus on non-malignant
(classical) hematology. It is expected that the candidate will
develop a clinical research program in an area of their interest.
Fellowship training in non-malignant (classical) hematology is
required.Areas of academic interest that fit particularly well with
current goals include, but are not limited to, thrombosis and
malignancy, bleeding and thrombosis in women, congenital bleeding
disorders, platelet disorders, immune-mediated cytopenias,
microangiopathies, and systems hematology. Interdisciplinary
research that leverages the breadth and strength of UCSF is
encouraged. Applicants who have been successful in obtaining
peer-reviewed funding are particularly encouraged to apply.
Candidates must be ABIM eligible or certified in Hematology. We
offer excellent support for junior faculty to develop their
career.The faculty member will be expected to participate in the
teaching and training of Hematology and Oncology fellows,
residents, and medical students as well as contribute to the
division's annual retreat. The Division of Hematology and Oncology
has a large fellowship program with a strong record of training
fellows who have gone on to full-time academic positions as well as
leadership positions in biotechnology companies. Clinical
activities will include attending on the hematology consultation
service and in our outpatient non-malignant (classical) hematology
clinic. Clinical opportunities are also available in our federally
funded Hemophilia Treatment Center.Rank and compensation will be

salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at
appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is
$127,000-$333,700. This position includes membership in the health
