services.About The RoleAs the Lead Software Engineer, Device
Automation within the Device Automation, Build, and Quality Team,
you will play a critical role in shaping the automated testing
strategy and scaling the team. You'll collaborate closely with
design, development, and quality teams to plan, design, and
implement robust automated testing systems that ensure the quality
and reliability of our AI Pin. As a senior technical leader, you
will be highly hands-on in your work, while mentoring and guiding
other engineers. You will also help build out the team, with the
potential to step into a formal management role in the future.This
position offers a unique opportunity to influence the development

You Might Do
- Develop and lead the implementation of automation frameworks
and testing strategies for device-level and user-facing
functionality.
- Drive initiatives to increase automation and improve code
quality.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering skill development
and best practices in automation and quality engineering.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with System Software,
Automation, and Test teams to ensure integration and alignment of
testing strategies.
- Build and scale the automation engineering team through
recruiting, onboarding, and team development.
- Utilize AI tools, such as OpenAI API, for deterministic and
non-deterministic testing approaches.
- Design and implement reusable automated tests and tools that
set the standard for the team, empowering other engineers to follow
best practices.
- Leverage a deep understanding of system logs and backend
processes to diagnose and resolve complex issues during
testing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for
build/release/test systems and CI/CD pipelines.Essential
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a
related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a strong
focus on device-level automation (experience with consumer
electronics is a strong plus).
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring
engineers or leading technical projects.
- Hands-on experience working with OSx and Linux.
- Strong proficiency in developing tools for test automation and
writing test cases.
- Deep understanding of automated testing for native Android
applications.
- Proficiency in Python or other object-oriented programming
languages.Preferred Skills
- Experience with Android Studio and Android Debug Bridge
(ADB).
- Expertise in designing and implementing scalable
build/release/test systems.
- Familiarity with one or more continuous integration pipeline
tools, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability
to manage cross-functional relationships.
- Proven ability to balance hands-on technical work with team
mentorship and leadership responsibilities.Salary Range: $200,000 -
$250,000Compensation & Benefits (Full-Time Employees)
- The salary range for this role is listed above. Final salary
offered is based upon multiple factors including individual
job-related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge and
skills.
