• Developing the core foundation of a realtime collaborative web app using CRDTs and WebSockets.
• Building complex AI workflows into the product.
• Moving fast and shipping to production daily.
• Thinking about frontend performance as a top priority.
• Building sophisticated and performant drag and drop interfaces.
• Debugging thorny and complex bugs without much to go on.
• Reading and suggesting improvements to open source projects that are at the core of the Gamma web application.
• Building out integrations and embedded apps.RequirementsMust Have
• 3-7 years experience as a frontend software engineer.
• A strong understanding of:
• How mutation observers and event propagation work.
• Experience with the state management in React, preferably with Redux.
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals (e.g. you're capable of writing vanilla JS instead of using lodash or jQuery).
• Experience working in large complex production scale frontend codebases.
• Experience working with mature APIs (REST or GraphQL).Nice to Have
• Experience with ProseMirror or other document editor frameworks.
• Experience with large language models and AI prompting.
• Experience programming with Typescript.
• Experience with Prisma and Apollo GraphQL.
• Contributions to open source projects (big or small).
• Experience with websockets and realtime data synchronization.
• Experience with Node, NestJS, or Express.
• Experience with NextJS.CompensationSalary: The cash compensation for this role ranges from $170k to $230k.Equity: In addition to the base salary, equity is part of the total compensation package.Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents.Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors such as experience and expertise in the requirements listed above.Our StackWhile this role is frontend focused, you'll inevitably be working across the entire product.
