Job Description:
The Department of Statistics invites applications for a tenured
Full Professor and Department Chair. We seek outstanding candidates
with demonstrated research and teaching expertise in the
formulation, implementation and study of the properties of
hierarchical models and related statistical methodology for large
and complex datasets. The candidate's work should be focused on the
development of probabilistic models that provide explanatory and
predictive tools for inference and decision making under
uncertainty. The successful candidate is expected to continue their
established research program, advise graduate students in their
research area, obtain external funding, develop and teach courses
within the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, perform
university, public, and professional service, and be able to work
with students, faculty and staff from a wide range of social and
cultural backgrounds. Applicants must have the leadership,
administrative, and organizational skills necessary to serve
effectively as Department Chair, possess a vision for moving the
Statistics Department forward as a world-class statistics program,
and have the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork among
internationally recognized colleagues. Experience supervising and
mentoring early career faculty and researchers is also highly

academic year (9-month basis).BASIC QUALIFICATIONSA Ph.D. or
equivalent foreign degree in statistics or closely related field;
demonstrated record of research in statistics; demonstrated record
of journal publications; at least five years of experience in
university teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels;
demonstrated record of supervision and mentoring of graduate
students; and, a demonstrated record of extramural funding.POSITION
