Job Summary
UCSF is one of the top 5 medical schools in the country and the
Bridges curriculum provides our medical students a unique
opportunity to engage in one-on-one coaching with a faculty mentor,
participate in team-based learning, incorporate reflection and
wellness into the curriculum, and learn through assessment.
Under the direction of the Manager of the Foundations 2 and Career
Launch Curriculum, the curriculum coordinator will work closely
with the program directors to coordinate the Introduction to Career
Launch course, Coda course, and longitudinal preceptorship
experiences called SPAN for UCSF medical students completing the
Career Launch phase of the curriculum.
The curriculum coordinator will coordinate all aspects of these
educational experiences, including:
Career Launch is the final, highly individualized phase of the
Bridges Curriculum, lasting 61 weeks. It includes dedicated time
for students to complete scholarly projects while they pursue
advanced clinical training that prepare them for their chosen
career paths. Career Launch starts with an introductory course,
Introduction to Career Launch, to prepare students for advanced
clinical coursework, and concludes with a clinical Capstone course,
Coda, that prepares students to successfully start their residency
programs.
About Introduction to Career Launch Course
Introduction to Career Launch is a four-week course designed to
help students transition to advanced clinical rotations. Sessions
are focused on roles and responsibilities, communication skills,
interprofessional teams, and strategies and skill development for
success in ambulatory, in-patient, and acute care settings.
About Coda Course
Coda is a three-week course that concludes the Bridges curriculum
and prepares students for their transition to residency. Coda's
main purpose is to summarize and review the most important clinical
information necessary for internship. There is a specialty-specific
component of the course, which offers a more tailored approach to
internship preparation.
About SPAN
SPAN (Specialty Practice Ambulatory Sub-iNternship) is a
longitudinal program in which students are paired with a clinical
preceptor for 16 half-day sessions over the course of Career
Launch, with the goal of entering residency prepared for outpatient
clinical practice. In this program, students develop advanced
ambulatory skills, build on experience gained in previous Bridges
longitudinal programs, and develop longitudinal coaching/mentoring
relationships.The final salary and offer components are subject to
additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the
salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your
work experience and internal equity within this position
classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a
labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by
the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range
for this position is $67,600 - $120,200 (Annual Rate).To learn more

Department Description
The Assessment, Curriculum and Evaluations (ACE) Unit is the
administrative team in the School of Medicine, Dean's Office,
Medical Education that operationalizes and directs the design of
the MD curriculum, student assessment and program evaluation.
Working closely with faculty and SOM Medical Education Deans, the
ACE consists of several subunits that manage the day-to-day
operation of curriculum design, implementation, delivery and
learner support.
The teams in ACE design, conduct, promote, evaluate, and support
medical education programs in compliance with organizational
objectives and nationally accepted accreditation standards and
requirements. The ACE teams support learners in areas such as
curriculum, teaching and learning activities, scheduling, core
competencies, assessment, and evaluations. The ACE team coordinates
all activities associated with ongoing administration of medical
education programs.
