Location: San Francisco, CA. (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ months long term project with extensions
Compensation: $100-115/hr
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in
the U.S.
Project:
Serves as technology expert providing direction and problem-solving
advice by reviewing all active Systems Integration projects.
Responsible for the long-range direction of an organization's
technology function. Provides technical leadership and
recommendations on market trends and internal research and
development budgets investment direction.
Designs new solutions for customers. Serves as the top-level
technical expert by creating high-level architectural views
depicting the different architectural aspects of the solution and
addressing problems of systems integration and compatibility based
on requirement specifications by performing the following
duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other
duties may be assigned. Provides overall technical leadership for a
systems implementation and integration program
Manages all technical deliverables for the program, including
architectural specifications, use case development, requirements
gathering, specification, and validation
Provides technical direction for software development teams and
quality assurance personnel
Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to
ensure efficient planning and execution
Provides project methodologies and deliverable templates for
solution architecture, requirements, software engineering, software
design, test engineering
Ensures deliverables are thoroughly tested and meet customer
expectations
Creates and executes GIS system tuning and system threshold testing
procedures
Generates project user scenarios to drive system architecture
sizing models using GIS vendor supplied system architecture
spreadsheets
Creates system deployment views that include specifying all
required software components and sizing of the system hardware
components
Able to lead enterprise GIS road mapping workshops for both
electric and gas utilities and develop multiple business release
roadmaps that allow the client to plan and budget against
Helps UDC's utility clients' pass their internal implementation
project reviews
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill, and/or ability required. Demonstrated ability to provide
technical leadership for implementation and integration
Ability to generate solution architecture documents, use-case
development, requirements gathering, specification and
validation
Proven ability to provide technical direction for software
development teams and quality assurance
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications and
customer relations skills.
Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional
integrity.
---Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree and Master's
degree in related discipline (e.g., Information Technology,
Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering,
Electric Engineering, Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent),
or equivalent utility and consulting work experience.
8-10 years of work experience in support of related utility
consulting or large-scale process/technology projects.
Experience in the electric and gas transmission and distribution
industries. Good understanding of general utility business
processes, their related business systems, their value for
utilities and how the business systems should be integrated and
enhanced with enterprise GIS technology: Construction: EAM, GWD,
GIS, mGIS, MWM, Engineering Analysis, Engineering Stationing
Operations: OMS, SCADA, DMS, ADMS, DERMS, DRMS, AMI/MDMS, SA, DA,
Gas OMS
Asset Management: EAM, GIS, mGIS, MWM, Interruption Reliability
Analysis, DIMP, TIMP, Linear Referencing, Content Management, Smart
Grid Data Repository, Pole Inspections, Tower Inspections, Line
Patrols, Circuit Patrols, Vegetation Management
Pipeline Safety Management: GIS, mGIS, EAM, SCADA, Content
Management, Engineering Analysis, DIMP, TIMP, Leak Surveys,
Incident Management, CP Surveys, Valve Inspections, Regulator
Inspections, Odorant Inspections, MSA Inspections, Structure
Inspections, Pipeline Surveys
Operational Awareness: Executive, Management, Operations and
Customer Dashboards
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual
should have knowledge of the following languages, frameworks,
methodologies, and software.
Familiarity with Agile implementation methodologies and artifacts,
working knowledge of solution architecture multi-view methodologies
and software tools
