Job Description:
We're looking for a UX Researcher to help shape the future of
the operating system powering over 3 billion devices around the
world, with a focus on Security & Privacy.The MissionPrivacy and
Security is a core pillar for the system. It is of crucial
importance to the platform and the apps that run on it. We have
made tremendous advancements in protecting user privacy in recent
Android releases.The Privacy and Security team has a goal of
helping users feel confident about navigating the digital world,
knowing they're protected and in control of their privacy and
security.As a UX Researcher on our team, you will:
- Conduct research supporting teams across Android Security &
Privacy.
- Utilize a range of methodologies, depending on business needs:
usability, longitudinal studies, benchmarking, surveys, and
more.
- Present research findings to diverse audiences through written
reports and oral presentations.
- Conduct research at different phases of the product development
lifecycle which spans from ideation through post-launch.Minimum
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction,
Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology,
Information Science or a related field, or equivalent practical
experience. MA/MS preferred.
- Experience with research design utilizing various methods
(e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
- Product research experience in an applied research
setting.Preferred Qualifications:
- MA/MS in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction,
Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology,
Information Science or a related field, or equivalent
practical.
- Mixed Methods Background: Strong understanding of the strengths
and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and
how to apply them during different phases of the product
development process.
- 3 years or more of product research experience in an applied
research setting.
- Proficiency in communicating user research findings with
cross-functional partners to drive impact.The target hiring
compensation range for this role is $77 to $81.80 an hour.
Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited
to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications,
