The Assistant General Auditor is responsible for ensuring that
policies and procedures are being followed consistently throughout
the organization in order to safeguard its assets, verifies the
accuracy and reliability of its accounting data and controls, and
promotes adherence to prescribed policies. Under limited guidance,
the Assistant General Auditor executes the comprehensive program of
internal auditing, including planning, organizing staff and
directing audit and other special projects. Expertise required in
risk assessments and developing control designs and testing for all
key business processes. Prepares detailed report of audit finding
to management.
Essential Functions:
? Plans and supervises internal audits by understanding
organization objectives, structure, policies, internal controls,
and external regulations: identifying areas of risk; preparing
audit scope, objectives, and preparing audit programs. Reviews
audit work and work papers.
? Reviews company wide procedures and policies, develops flow
charts and narratives to documents current procedures and
recommends changes to streamline the process and accelerate the
training period for new auditors.
? Assesses compliance with the financial regulations and controls
by executing audit program steps; testing general ledger, account
balances, balance sheets, income statements, and related financial
statements; examining and analyzing records, reports, operating
practices, and documentation.
? Assesses risks and internal controls by identifying areas of
non-compliance; evaluating manual and automated financial
processes; identifying process weaknesses and inefficiencies and
operational issues.
? Communicates audit progress and findings by providing information
in status meetings highlighting unresolved practices, internal
control structures, operating processes, and identifying root
causes. Prepares audit reports to documents the results of the
audit.
? Update job knowledge by participating in educational
opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining
personal network, and participating in professional
organizations.
? Performs other job related duties and participates in special
projects as requested
