In the public markets, you could log in to your brokerage account anytime to see your investments, their cost, and their value. In the private markets, you hired an accountant and waited a quarter or more to get a spreadsheet. We changed the market with the first real-time Schedule of Investments (SOI). Investors could log in at any point and see an up-to-date view of their investments, cost, and value.In the last five years, we've been building the platform to unlock the future of fund administration. We launched our own proprietary general ledger and "Event-Based Accounting" framework. We've embedded deeply with our customers to understand thousands of complex workflows. And we've automated the nitty-gritty parts of the business like LP allocations, waterfalls, capital calls, and management fees. As a result, Carta Fund Admin has grown from an idea many thought was impossible to a business that manages over $130B in assets for the world's top venture and private equity investors.But we're still at the beginning of our journey. The challenge now is to evolve our platform to serve the complex needs of the Office of the Fund CFO. The ultimate vision is one in which we can remove fund managers from the minutiae of busywork to focus on what really matters: fundraising, developing investment theses, and getting deals done.As a Principal Product Manager for Fund Operations, you'll build core components of self-service fund administration software for private venture fund CFOs. You'll help solve problems like:

• How do we create an exceptional capital call experience through software for fund managers and their investors?
• How do we build seamless workflows to facilitate the timely booking and payment for a fund's new investments on Carta?
• How do we leverage the Carta network to ensure portfolio company valuations are always up to date and accurate?
• How do we ensure all of a fund's cash activity is real-time in the Carta platform?The Team You'll Work WithThe Fund Operations team is building the core "engine" to power our vision of an operating system for private capital. There are immense challenges to be solved, and enormous opportunities if we can do it. You'll be joining an organization that cares deeply about building delightful experiences for Fund CFOs and LPs, has a deep understanding of the ecosystem, and understands the responsibilities we have to our customers.The Fund Operations product and engineering team is composed of experienced R&D leaders that have worked across our product and have a deep understanding of the unique problems we're solving for our customers. R&D partners closely with a dedicated group of experienced Fund Administrators that have spent their entire careers servicing asset allocators across Venture, PE, and Hedge.About YouHere are some of the attributes we're looking for in this role:
  • An experienced product owner with at least 10+ years of product management experience recommended at a quickly scaling business.
  • A learner, independently curious about the private capital markets and able to rapidly get up to speed on complex topics.
  • A systems thinker who can break down complex processes and systems into simple models. Fund Admin is both wide and deep and this role will be expected to work across the entirety of our product.
  • Someone with prior experience partnering with delivery leaders to ensure we're delivering both a best-in-class product and service to our customers.
  • Perseverant, with the grit to withstand the ups and downs of a scaling business. You believe you can solve even the hardest problems.
  • Experience in financial services and fintech products are a plus.Carta's compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, and exceptional benefits. Our minimum cash compensation range for this role is:
    • $220,000- $275,000 in San Francisco, CA; Santa Clara, CA
    • $209,000 - $261,000 in Seattle, WAFinal offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.Disclosures:
