Join us to invest in yourself, your career, and the financial world.We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in the Member Data Science team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving insights from customer complaints, analyzing structured/unstructured complaints data to uncover trends, identify root causes, and provide actionable recommendations to improve customer experience and operational efficiency. The Member Organization is the connective tissue at SoFi, dedicated to understanding our members and their behaviors to help them achieve financial independence and reach their goals.As a Sr. Data Scientist, you'll use your expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning to uncover insights that will directly impact product quality. You will partner with product and compliance teams to uncover systemic issues. This role demands a strong technical foundation (SQL, Python/R, Tableau, Statistics), a deep understanding of business metrics, text analytics, A/B testing, and exceptional collaboration skills.This role is inherently cross-functional-you will work closely with engineering, product managers, lifecycle marketing, data science, design, operations, finance, risk, legal, compliance, and executive teams to set business objectives, define product strategy, prioritize features, and execute on them. This is an exciting role for someone to make a direct impact on the company's financial performance and customer experience.Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data collection and processing pipelines.
  • Develop and apply machine learning models to solve business problems.
  • Strong experience owning product analytics workflows including formulating success metrics, socializing them across the organization, and creating dashboards/reports.
  • Evaluate and interpret the results of data analysis.
  • Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest data science techniques and technologies.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree required (Masters preferred) in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering or quantitative field.
    • 4+ years of relevant work experience.
    • Strong programming skills in SQL, Python/R and proficiency in Tableau.
    • Experience with using DBT, Airflow to build Data Pipelines in Snowflake.
    • Experience with text analytics, NLP, A/B testing, quasi-experimentation for causal inference.
    • Experience with data mining, descriptive analytics, defining KPIs, machine learning, statistical modeling and predictive modeling concepts.
    • Demonstrate strong business acumen and curiosity with excellent communication and presentation skills with leadership.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should be able to initiate and drive projects to completion.
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
    • Influence outcomes and communicate technical content to general audiences.
    • Work independently in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, with strong attention to detail and be a team player.
    • Prepare comprehensive data reports and share insights with stakeholders.Compensation and BenefitsThe base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.Pay range: $128,000.00 - $240,000.00Payment frequency: AnnualThis role is also eligible for a bonus, long term incentives and competitive benefits.
