Job Summary
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced training professional to
support the capacity building assistance needs of a wide range of
social service providers for a county-wide initiative aimed at
improving outcomes for Medi-Cal recipients, especially those with
the most complex needs. Co-develops new provider community
engagement trainings, and works on complex social service program
integration support, for a diverse group of new and existing
providers. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and
techniques for delivering training sessions, presentations, and
development programs. Receives general instructions and exercises
judgment in selecting methods and techniques for the course and
instructional improvement. Fully knowledgeable in course subject
matter and program.
Involves designing, conducting, managing, and evaluating a capacity
building assistance program in partnership with educational
institutions, county-based agencies, organizations and services in
Alameda County. Collects enrollment data, maintains education
curricula inventory, and evaluates training program results.
Functions as a community resource, provides leadership to
volunteers and acts as subject matter expert for assigned
program.
Under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of the
Training & Health Equity Collaborative (THE Collaborative), the
Training Manager is responsible for the implementation of our
training offerings pertaining to our Alameda County Training
Academy scope. The Training Manager is a member of THE
Collaborative's project management team and is responsible for
developing, administrating, and managing specific training work in
our group.
To support this high-profile portfolio of work, the Training
Manager will be required to assist in the oversight of the training
partners in their delivery of effective education, training, and
capacity-building assistance programs. With guidance from the
senior management team, this position will be the key liaison for
our Alameda County Training Academy subject-matter expert bench
requiring ongoing communication and excellent relationship
management skills with program staff and faculty. The Training
Manager will be responsible for identifying areas of support,
providing guidance and technical assistance, and reviewing annual
scopes of work and reports. They will implement the training and
technical assistance plan for the Training Academy, including
asynchronous and web-based learning projects. They will collaborate
to prepare regular progress reports for funders and assist in
competitive applications. They will develop collaborative
relationships with staff within other training programs within THE
Collaborative portfolio, UCSF, and the wider training and
capacity-building assistance provider community. The final salary
and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on
UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a
number of factors including your work experience and internal
equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions
that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary
range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining
agreement.The salary range for this position is $52,800 - $112,000

Department Description
The Training & Health Equity Collaborative (THE Collaborative) is
housed in the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM),
under the guidance of a senior management team. THE Collaborative
is the administrative unit that has had domestic and international
training grants and has been funded at the federal and state level
as the prime recipient, as well as subcontracts from various
universities and agencies. THE Collaborative's portfolio of
programs includes the Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center, the
West Region Care & Wellbeing Center, and the Alameda County
Training Academy.
The Alameda County Training Academy supports capacity-building
assistance efforts to improve coordination and strengthen client
engagement in the provision of social services for people without
housing and high utilizers of medical and behavioral health
services. This program is administered through Managed Care Plans
in Alameda County: Alameda Alliance for Health in partnership with
Anthem Blue Cross, to support workforce development for whole
person care within this East Bay County. This new training program
builds upon UCSF's previous work with Alameda County as the Skills
Development Unit for the state-funded Whole Person Care pilot. This
new project focuses on CalAIM goals to provide capacity-building
assistance and support to Enhanced Case Management and Community
Support providers in this county.
