their team to achieve their goals.What you'd be doing in this
roleWe are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller with a
strong background in accounting, financial and revenue reporting,
internal controls, payroll, treasury management, procurement, and
expense reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of
experience in accounting, with a proven track record of success in
both private and public companies. You will be a hands-on leader,
managing a team and overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations
of the company, ensuring compliance, financial transparency, and
accuracy in all aspects of our financial reporting. You and the
rest of the finance leadership team will work with the CFO to
ensure our team and support of Canva can scale and provide
excellence.At the moment, the role is focused on:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Lead the preparation and
oversight of all financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
and IFRS. Ensure timely close processes, and drive the preparation
for and implementation of necessary processes for all technical and
SEC reporting.
- Revenue Reporting: Oversee the revenue reporting team and
support their analysis and accounting for all online and enterprise
revenue. Drive continued scaling of internal revenue systems to
support Canva's growth.
- SOX Compliance: Oversee the SOX team and support their mission
to develop, implement, and drive Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
programs, ensuring all relevant internal controls are in place,
documented, tested, and functioning effectively. Provide regular
reports to the CFO and Audit Committee on the status of internal
controls and any remediation efforts.
- Treasury & Cash Management: Oversee the treasury function,
including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and the
establishment of appropriate banking relationships. Implement and
maintain effective cash management and banking policies and systems
to facilitate smooth financial operations.
- Payroll Management: Supervise and manage the global payroll
function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee
compensation. Oversee payroll compliance, including tax filings and
reporting for all jurisdictions.
- Sales Compensation: Partner closely with Sales Operations to
build a sales compensation team within finance to support our
enterprise sales organization.
- Procurement Management: Oversee the company's Global Spend
team, ensuring that purchasing activities are conducted in a
cost-effective, efficient, and compliant manner.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and continue to
develop our high-performing team. Foster a culture of
collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within
the team. Build and implement efficient processes and systems to
support company growth.You're probably a match if you have:
- An extensive experience in accounting or finance, with a strong
understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
- Significant experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and
internal audit practices.
- Experience working with both private and large-scale public
companies.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and
manage high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of treasury management, payroll
processing, procurement, AP and expense reimbursement, and
financial operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability
to interact with and influence all levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational
skills.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems,
procurement systems, and Excel.
- Exposure to international financial operations and
multi-currency accounting.
- Experience in the tech or SaaS industry is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA
or equivalent certification preferred.About the teamAt Canva, our

The salary range for this position is $283,000 to $426,000. When
calculating offers, we make salary decisions based on market data
