We are looking for a Community Engagement Specialist who will
evaluate and monitor day and specialized services within the
Agency's three counties to ensure the quality of services provided
to people supported and in compliance with Title XVII, California
Code of Regulations, Agency standards, and best practices for
programs. The purpose of Golden Gate Regional Center's (GGRC's)
Community Engagement Specialist is to coordinate GGRC's activities
as related to the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS)
and the Home and Community Based Services Settings Final Rule
(HCBSFR).Responsibilities:
- Participates in activities to support GGRC and its Service
Provider community in reaching compliance with HCBS
requirements.
- Provides consultation and technical assistance to Service
Providers and regional center staff regarding HCBS
requirements.
- Serves as supplementary GGRC staff contact for all Quality
Assurance issues related to HCBS requirements.
- Maintains communication with Service Providers to complete
ongoing HCBS compliance monitoring to assess the need for and
progress in making required changes to existing programs.
- Acts as a liaison to programs and completes monitoring tools
and guidance for the successful transition to the HCBS-FR.
- Ensures all programs provide services that are community-based,
competitively employed, and at least at the minimum wage level.Work
Location:The Community Engagement Specialist position is a
full-time position operating out of the San Francisco office in a
hybrid schedule. This position will require you to travel locally
within the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin. Access
to reliable transportation is required to travel to and between
many different locations throughout the day in order to perform the
outlined responsibilities of the position.Minimum
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related human services
field. Master's degree is preferred.
- 2+ years post-graduate work, one of which must be in the field
of developmental disabilities.
- 2-3 years in interpreting and implementing federal and state
regulations and developing policies and procedures to comply with
regulations.
- Experience in supporting people with Intellectual/Developmental
Disabilities is desired but not required.
- 4+ years working in social services in case management, program
management, or quality assurance and/or resource
development.Skills:
- Written communication: ability to develop standard business
communications, using proper grammar, spelling, and
punctuation.
- Oral communication: ability to convey complex information and
ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Documenting and maintaining accurate data, reports, and
records.
- Basic familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS
Outlook, or similar software applications.
- Ability to travel in the community and throughout the
state.
- Working cooperatively and effectively with individuals
supported and their families, providers of employment services, and
business community partners.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
- Program evaluation and development.
- Seminar and workshop presentation.Desired
Qualifications:Experience in multi-cultural settings and/or
