self.Schedule: Full Time, 35 hours/week, at least three days
working onsiteThe Senior Financial Analyst under the direction of
the Director of Financial Planning & Treasury, is responsible for
providing key analytical and modeling support. This position plays
a key role in enabling the efficient and effective financial
operation of the SFMOMA, one of the largest museums of modern and
contemporary art in the United States. It offers exposure to all
departments and all levels of a nonprofit institution that aims to
open minds through art and the creative process.Responsibilities &
Duties
- Collaborate with staff across the museum to achieve
organizational goals. Serve as a primary link between finance and
the rest of the museum.
- Execute FP&A processes including budgeting, forecasting,
financial close, and financial scenario development. Understand and
communicate key business drivers and their link to budget,
forecast, and actual results.
- Provide end-to-end analytics support, including determining
project scope, sourcing the data required, detailing out the
analysis, generating recommendations, and managing time and
resources to meet deliverables.
- Clearly communicate business/financial goals, performance, and
variances to stakeholders. Take a lead role in preparing and
delivering financial presentations to the museum's leadership
team.
- Advise colleagues and executive management on financial impact
of decisions.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across
finance, accounting, and other teams.Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, economics, or related field. MBA
a plus. Basic accounting knowledge.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive analytical/finance
experience. Management Consulting or Investment banking experience
a plus.
- Excellent financial analysis and financial modeling skills.
Strong critical thinking ability and bias for action.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with proven ability to
communicate findings and recommendations in executive level
communications.
- Excellent customer interaction skills. Ability to break down
and communicate financial targets and results to a wide variety of
SFMOMA stakeholders including budget managers, the museum
leadership team, and members of the Board of Trustees.
- Effective handling of multiple deliverables in a dynamic
environment.
- Demonstration of good judgement and confidentiality in handling
sensitive information.
- High-energy, positive attitude, and an eagerness to advance
SFMOMA's mission.
- Previous work with Adaptive Insights or similar budgeting and
reporting tool preferred (Hyperion, TM1, Planful, etc.).
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
